From the moment you stepped into college, everything felt new, unknown… and exciting. But nothing could have prepared you for him—Jeon Jungkook, the campus sweetheart, the boy with starry eyes and a grin that could melt glaciers.
You had heard about him before… the guy every girl secretly (or not-so-secretly) liked. But no one ever told you he was this adorable.
Your first proper interaction happened during the fresher's orientation, where you got lost in the building, nervously clutching your file. That’s when you heard a voice behind you—
“Hey… you look like you're trying to decode the Da Vinci Code with that map.”
You turned to find Jungkook standing there, laughing softly.
“Umm… yeah, maybe I took a wrong turn.” You chuckled nervously.
“Lucky wrong turn then… I’m Jungkook.” He extended his hand.
That was the beginning. And from that day, Jungkook just... clicked with you. It wasn’t long before you were a couple—and not just any couple, but that couple on campus. The cute, hopelessly-in-love one that made others sigh or seethe.
Jungkook was all heart when it came to you. No matter where you were—cafeteria, library, or class—he always managed to find his way beside you.
“I swear this chair was calling my name. It said ‘sit next to her Jungkook or I’ll scream!’”
You giggled. He had a habit of making up ridiculous stories just to make you smile.
“What did the math book say to the calculator?”
“Ugh… I don’t know.”
“You can count on me!”
“That’s the worst joke I’ve ever heard,” you laughed, pushing his shoulder playfully.
"But you still laughed. That’s love, baby,” he said proudly, wrapping his arm around you.
But Then, There Was Niya...
She had been in Jungkook’s life before you came. Niya—the confident, stylish girl everyone knew. She was beautiful and smart, and once you met her, you could see she shared a long-standing comfort with Jungkook.
But when you were around… her eyes changed.
She’d go from friendly to frigid in seconds. Every time Jungkook held your hand or looked at you like you were the only person in the world, her jaw would tighten.
At first, you tried to ignore it. Maybe you were overthinking. But then came the small comments.
At a group hangout, when Jungkook excitedly pulled you onto the couch beside him:
Niya rolled her eyes:
“God, you two are too much sometimes. It’s like watching a drama. Chill out, Jungkook.”
Another time, she whispered under her breath when you entered:
“Oh great, she’s here.”
You pretended not to hear. You didn’t want Jungkook to feel caught between you two.
Even when she brushed past you too hard in the hallway or made cutting remarks masked as jokes, you kept it to yourself. Because the last thing you wanted was to ruin Jungkook’s friendship or cause a fight.
But slowly, the discomfort grew. Every time Niya came near, your body tensed. You started to feel hesitant when Jungkook invited her to join your lunch table.
Once, after a long day, you were walking hand-in-hand with Jungkook when Niya walked up and interrupted:
“Hey Kook, let’s go grab a bite. Just us. Like old times?”
Jungkook blinked.
“Uhh, but we were gonna eat together, all three of us…” he said, looking between you two.
Niya smirked, flipping her hair.
“Yeah, but I just want to talk like we used to. You and me—you know?”
Your heart sank. But before you could say anything, you let go of his hand gently.
“It’s fine. You guys go ahead.”
“Babe, you sure?” Jungkook frowned.
You smiled and nodded, but your chest felt heavy.
Despite everything, your love for Jungkook only grew. He was your first boyfriend, the first person to call you beautiful without makeup, to carry your books even when you insisted you could do it, to show up with hot chocolate during your exams just because you seemed stressed.
You never glanced at another guy. Even when others flirted with you, you'd simply walk away.
Jungkook trusted you blindly. And you? You trusted him just the same.
You just didn’t trust her.
But you chose to bear the discomfort silently… because what you had with Jungkook was real. And you weren’t going to let someone else's cold stares ruin that.
Still, in the quiet moments when you were alone… you wondered—
“If he ever saw the way she looked at me… would he still call her his best friend?”
It was a bright, breezy Thursday morning when you and Jungkook decided, on a spontaneous impulse, to ditch the usual routine.
“Let’s run away.”
He whispered with a mischievous twinkle in his eye as you both sat in the back row of your morning class.
“What?” you giggled, glancing at the teacher.
“I’m serious. One day. Just you and me. No classes. No friends. No Niya.”
He added the last part with a smirk.
“Okay. Let’s go.”
You surprised him—and yourself.
And just like that, within minutes, you two were out the gate, hand-in-hand, sneakers hitting pavement like rebels on the run.
The amusement park was quieter on weekdays—perfect. You wore matching wristbands, laughed on the Ferris wheel, screamed together on the roller coaster, shared a large bucket of popcorn, and even won a silly plushie in a ring toss.
“This guy’s gonna sleep next to you now,” Jungkook declared proudly, handing you the stuffed tiger.
“Only if you promise not to be jealous,” you teased.
“I’ll fight him.” He puffed his cheeks.
“You’re ridiculous.”
“I’m your ridiculous.”
He kissed your cheek, and your heart swelled.
Meanwhile in college...
Back in the college campus, Niya was pacing.
She hadn’t seen Jungkook all morning. She’d checked the canteen, the classrooms, the gym. Nothing.
"Where the hell is he?” she muttered, finally pulling out her phone.
She dialed. One ring. Two rings. Click.
“Hello?”
Jungkook's voice was carefree, background noise of laughter and music audible through the speaker.
“Where are you?!” Niya demanded.
“Oh— we bunked today.”
There was a pause.
“…We?” Her voice was sharp.
“Yeah. Me and YN. We’re at the amusement park!” he said brightly, like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Niya’s grip tightened on her phone. Her nails dug into her palm.
“You and her?”
“Yeah? What’s wrong? I told you we needed a break. You should’ve come too, but I wanted it to be just us today.”
Click.
She hung up without another word. Her face was red with rage. She stood silently in the hallway for a moment before whispering through gritted teeth:
“I hate you, YN. I fucking hate you.”
Her nails scraped across the wall as she walked away, whispering under her breath like a curse.
“I’ll make sure you two don’t last. You’re just a phase, YN. He was mine before you—and he’ll be mine after you.”
Back With You Two… Unaware of the Storm Brewing
You and Jungkook stood in line for your final ride of the day—the carousel. He insisted it was romantic.
“You know, I think days like this are what love stories are made of,” he said, wrapping his arms around your waist from behind.
“And what if our love story has a villain?”
You asked half-jokingly, looking up at him.
“Then I’ll fight her.”
He smiled, not knowing how close to the truth he really was.
You laughed. You didn’t know. Not yet.
But somewhere, Niya’s eyes were already filled with obsession, her mind spinning with plans.
And this perfect day… was the beginning of the storm.
To be continued...
